Another round of speakers has been announced for the RNC Convention. The current list already includes Nikki Haley, John Kasich, Rand Paul, John McCain, Susana Martinez and many others. Last night, the Chairman of the RNC added Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, Puerto Rico’s Gov. Luis Fortuno, rising Texas star Ted Cruz and two Attorneys General. The news:
Thrilled to announce that @luisfortuno51, @govwalker, @tedcruz, @pambondi and @samolens will all be speaking at the @gopconvention!

To me the biggest news is the Cruz pick, as he just won the Senate runoff a few days ago. Picking Cruz shows that the “establishment” respects him and his upset victory in Texas and is willing to elevate him to the national stage. It’s a good call considering Cruz is one of the most eloquent speakers our party has. In addition, the Walker pick is big, as it’s almost a “screw you” to the Big Labor forces who attempted to bully him out of the Governor’s Mansion in Wisconsin. Solid round of speakers, now all the speculation turns toward the VP pick.
