This is the right thing to do, given our nation’s ongoing commitment in Afghanistan and across the globe fighting radical Islamic extremists who seek to put out the torch of liberty and take the world on the road to serfdom. This e-mail just came across from the Romney campaign in Virginia:
Justin,
As the anniversary of September 11th approaches, we would like to thank all the men and women who bravely serve and have served in our armed forces. We also pause to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Team Virginia will not engage in political activity on September 11th and instead, we are asking everyone to drop off supplies at any office across the Commonwealth (find locations here: http://mi.tt/y8ISU2). We will be delivering these donations to organizations that support the troops both here and overseas.
In addition, the Romney Bus will be at the Springfield Victory Center where volunteers will assemble care packages and write encouraging notes for our troops. If possible, we encourage you to drop supplies at this location anytime on Tuesday.
