Former Congressman Anthony Weiner, who resigned in disgrace after it became apparent that his Twitter account wasn’t hacked and he was responsible for lewd photos sent to various women, is plotting a political comeback. Weiner has entered the race for New York City Mayor, which prompted New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to shoot down his ambition:
Cuomo: “It’s basically democracy. Those are grownups (in the Assembly) who are picking, who pick their leader.”
Rogers: “So if Anthony Weiner wants to run for mayor, he can run for mayor.”
Cuomo: “He runs? He runs.”
Rogers: “And if we elect him?”
Cuomo: “Shame on us.”
As Hot Air notes, there’s also rumors that more lewd photos of Weiner may emerge that didn’t go public during the initial scandal, meaning the press may be in for a show and the ultra-liberal former Congressman may be in for heartache. Why does he think he has a chance, again?
